All sheets on this page are 3/64 inch (1.2 mm) thick and have a backing of 3M 300LSE, an industrial-strength adhesive that is the strongest and most versatile adhesives of its kind. It sticks strongly to almost everything. We use this exact same suede and 300LSE adhesive to make our commercial stick-on suede soles for dance shoes. The suede sheets offered here are suitable for many different craft projects, but they are a particularly cost-effective way of making suede soles for dance shoes.
While you can buy sheets of suede for making suede soles at crafts stores, those suede sheets require to be glued on -- a messy and tricky procedure. You also have to buy that glue, learn how to apply it properly, and you need workshop-style clamps for this process. Many users of glue also complain about the possibly toxic fumes from some glues. None of those issues are a concern for you when you use our suede sheets with their industrial-strength adhesive backing.
Will it stay on? After extensive testing and after having sold thousands of units of this and similar stick-on suede sole products with the same adhesive, we know with certainty that the adhesive stays on when used on shoes with hard leather or suede soles. On the vast majority of rubber or plastic-soled shoes the adhesive also stays on, but there are some very rare rubber or plastic compounds, to which the adhesive sticks less well (fewer than 1% of our customers reported such problems). In the unlikely case that this product does not stick well to your shoes, please contact us. We respond promptly and will provide you with a satisfactory solution. Guaranteed! Chances of detachment increase when your rubber-soled shoes have aggressive profiles that present only a small surface area for the adhesive to touch. This product should not be used to cover the narrow tip of the heel of high-heeled shoes.
